Ground transport at Hartsfield Airport connects not only downtown Atlanta, but also many outlying suburbs, towns and cities, such as Dunwoody, East Point, Fayetteville, Marietta, Panthersville, Redan, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Smyrna, as well as the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Chamblee. To help you plan your trip, the Ground Transport Center is open Monday, Wednesday to Friday at 08:30 to 17:00, and on Tuesdays between 08:30 and 17:00.

Trains are operated by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). The MARTA trains run every five minutes and take less than 15 minutes to reach central Atlanta, making them one of the most popular modes of transport on hand at Hartsfield. There are also trains connecting Hartsfield Airport to DeKalb, Fulton Cobb and areas close to Atlanta.

By taxi, the journey from Hartsfield Airport into central Atlanta will take around 15 minutes, depending on traffic. To avoid overcharging, all taxis now charge flat rates for certain destinations, i.e. downtown, Buckhead and Midtown. Additional surcharges are made for extra passengers and drop-offs. The taxi rank is located within the Yellow Bus aisle.

Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is served by many regular public buses. These arrive and depart from the terminal buildings, linking the airport with downtown Atlanta and other nearby parts of Georgia. Buses leave roughly every 15 minutes, with Greyhound buses, the Northside Airport Express and hotel shuttles all providing further travel options.

Limousines

Executive cars / limousines are available at Hartsfield International Airport, should money be no object. Roughly 200 different companies fall into this category of ground transport, ranging from stretch limos to luxury sedans. It is recommended that your chosen limousine company is contacted well in advance. When you arrive, your limo driver will either meet you at the South Lower Level or next to the Atrium.
